Emerald Impressions is our 2003 stallion prospect.  He has shown extensively in hand since he was a yearling and has quite an impressive show record as a young horse.  See a brief list of his accomplishments below.  He was presented to the American Trakehner Association for approval  November 2006 in Columbus, Ohio at the annual Convention.  He was not approved; however, prior to gelding him, we did breed him to three quality mares - two of our own, Angel and Valentine, and a friend's Arabian mare.  See below for photos of his offspring!

Pedigree

Emerald Impressions' pedigree reads like a "who's who" of the Trakehner and Thoroughbred worlds.  Click on the link above for a full description of his pedigree.

Emerald Impressions has been very lightly started under saddle.  He was started as a 3 year old prior to the stallion approvals; however, due to Anissa's hectic work schedule, he has only been ridden on a very irregular basis.  Preston will be leaving Emerald Acres to go to Michelle Palladino's home to get more "miles" under saddle and to be shown and possibly sold.  He has proven to have inherited both his sire's and his dam's great work ethic and sensible nature.  The above photos were taken on rides number 8 and 7 respectively.  He shows the desire to move forward, and is very uphill at both his trot and his canter.  Nothing has seemed to bother him thus far.  On September 15, 2006, he was shown in the 3 Year Old Colts/Geldings Materialle class.  This was his 19th time under saddle.  He proved that he was ready by being totally unconcerned with schooling around the other stallions, geldings, and mares.  He then went into the ring and received a second place ribbon and a score of 69.4% from Peter Hansen.  He followed up on this feat September 16, 2006 by going into the same class and winning that class with a score of 68.8% from Janine Malone.  On October 7, 2006, we competed in a local schooling show and he won both of the Intro Level classes that he was entered in with scores of 60.5% for Intro A and 62.8% for Intro B under "R" judge Jan Gille.  The highest score of the day was a 66%!  "Preston's" scores were the second highest scores of the day for all levels.   He was ranked 14th in the nation for USDF Dressage Sporthorse Breeding for 3 year old colts/geldings with a median score of 73.7% in 2006.

Emerald Impressions was campaigned extensively in the Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes his yearling year.  He won extensive awards and was well received at all the shows that he attended - including Dressage at Devon, at which he placed 3rd in both the Trakehner and the American Warmblood Society classes.  He was also presented to the American Warmblood Society in Niceville, Florida and was awarded a "Supreme" rating with a score of 87.7% by Nikki Atwell who stated that he was "approaching brilliance."  In 2005, he was shown at a few local shows, but only two "Rated" shows and thus was not eligible for any awards with the United States Dressage Association.  During 2006, he was prepared for his 3 year old year, in which he was campaigned heavily again and presented to the American Trakehner Association for approvals.

Throughout his show career thus far, Emerald Impressions has consistently scored in the mid 70's in hand, occasionally with scores in the low 80's by recognized judges.
